Mikey Mercer
On the soca scene from 2004, Mikey has consistently produced hits year after year. Tunes like his debut single “Come Together”, which won the Road March title that year, the party starter “I in Dat” and “Bashment Bacchanal” are testimony that this quality artists would be here to stay.
2011 would be the year Mikey emerged as a King as his popular tune “Pavement Anticipation” swept the competition and earned him the coveted Party Monarch title. 2012 was a historic year for the young king as his fast paced tune “No Behaveya” and the sweet, groovy “We Loose” earned him an unprecedented 4 crowns. In 2013, he would retain 3 of those 4 titles, Party Monarch and Road march with monster hit “Roll it” with his band mate Blood under Some Kartel and People’s Monarch with “Enjoy Meh Life”.
Remaining consistent over the years, Mikey made a slight rebrand and took Crop Over 2018 by storm, winning Party Monarch with “My Kinda Party” and winning People’s Monarch with unifying track “Feting Family” which also placed second in the Sweet Soca Competition and Tune of the Crop ( Road March).
In 2019, Mikey became Barbados’ first Soca Monarch winning with his French influenced Action Time Again.
On a personal note Mikey has formed the Team Mikey charity which not only ensures that our youth, elderly and less fortunate are taken care of but the organization is an advocate for ending violence against women.
